ASEAN’s growing energy demand and uneven renewable resources make regional power integration crucial. This policy paper explores how the ASEAN Power Grid (APG) can drive the region’s energy transition by enabling cross-border electricity trade, improving energy security, and reducing emissions. It outlines key regulatory, technical, and financial barriers, and offers recommendations for governments and the private sector to accelerate APG development and unlock Southeast Asia’s clean energy potential.
