Minister of Investment, Trade & Industry Malaysia –
I have received a visit from the EU-ASEAN Business Council (EU-ABC) delegation which is carrying out a Business Mission to Malaysia. This meeting aims to discuss and exchange perspectives on national policies towards improving trade and investment prospects for European companies in this country.
Among the topics discussed are the New Industrial Master Plan 2030 (NIMP2030), the National Policy on IR 4.0, the growth of the EV sector in Malaysia, the Malaysia-European Union Free Trade Agreement (MUEFTA) and EU sustainability policy.
I am confident that the EU-ABC can work with the Government to play an important role in helping to achieve the country’s aspirations towards a dynamic and sustainable economy. Hopefully this strong cooperation will help the common objective, especially when Malaysia will take over the ASEAN Chairmanship in 2025.
