The EU-ASEAN Business Council concluded its three-day Business Mission in Manila with engagements with the Department of Tourism and the EU delegation to the the Philippines.
Meetings included:
- Department of Tourism (DOT): Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco
- EU Delegation: Ambassador Massimo Santoro
Discussions focused on shared priorities on tourism development, progress on the EU-Philippines FTA negotiations, and regional integration as the Philippines prepares for its ASEAN Chairmanship in 2026.
The EU-ABC would like to thank our partners at the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (ECCP) for their support in making the Council’s fifth Business Mission to Manila a success.
This Mission saw 88 delegates – our biggest yet in Manila – from around 30 organisations participating in 12 meetings over three days. Such extensive engagement from European businesses is a clear signal that Philippines is viewed as a key market in the region. Likewise, through our meetings with key Philippine government leaders, the Philippines has reaffirmed its openness and commitment to forging stronger EU-Philippines and EU-ASEAN ties, by fostering deeper public-private collaboration.
The Council expresses its heartfelt gratitude to our colleagues across the Philippine government for their warm hospitality over the past three days, and for their support in providing this opportunity for valuable discussions, renewed partnerships, and shared commitment towards a deep, long-lasting relationship between our two regions.
We look forward to more exchanges with the Philippines as it takes on the ASEAN Chairship next year.
