This week, we have Maarten Kelder, Executive Vice President, Strategy and Corporate Development, Zuellig Pharma on our Interview Series.
With Zuellig Pharma being Asia’s largest healthcare distribution and service provider, Maarten shared about the disruption the pandemic has caused the industry and the importance of strengthening engagement of key industry stakeholders, innovating and building digital tools and remote working capabilities and the adoption of risk based approach in supply chain strategy for the long run, being key takeaways from the pandemic.
To assist in the fight against COVID-19 regionally, Maarten stated that the initial focus was on staff well being and ensuring that they were well equiped to work remotely. Zullig Pharma also stocked up on inventory levels to ensure more than two months worth of essential medicines are readily available to markets they serve. Further to that, the development and launch of new digital platforms were also accelerated.
For the region to emerge from the pandemic stronger, before a vaccine is available, senior leaders would need to continue to be vigilant, focus on leveraging technology and working together to source, distribute and administer the vaccine. Working in close collaboration remains vital.
Next in the series, we have Don Kanak, Chairman, Eastspring Investments, Chairman of Prudence Foundation and Chairman of EU-ASEAN Business Council! Stay tuned!
