The EU-ASEAN Business Council (EU-ABC) met Ms Ditte Juul Jørgensen, Director-General for Energy (DG ENER) at the European Commission, during her visit to Singapore on 29 October 2025.
Held at the EU Delegation to Singapore, the meeting provided a platform for EU-ABC Members to discuss key energy priorities with the European Commission and explore areas for enhanced EU-ASEAN cooperation. Discussions focussed on accelerating ASEAN’s energy transition – from advancing the ASEAN Power Grid and improving regulatory cooperation, to unlocking clean energy financing through initiatives like the Global Gateway as well as private sector investment.
The EU-ABC also presented its policy paper, “Powering ASEAN’s Net-Zero Future: Accelerating the Energy Transition Through the ASEAN Power Grid”, to Director-General Jørgensen.
As ASEAN moves toward a clean and just energy transition, European businesses continue to demonstrate strong interest in supporting the region’s green growth through investment, innovation, and collaboration.
