Healthcare issues were flagged as one of the top priorities in the ASEAN Economic Community Blueprint 2025. Currently, the main challenge facing ASEAN is the rapidly ageing populations across the region, inevitably pushing up healthcare expenditure and demands for the provision of adequate healthcare.

The EU-ABC recognises the need for governments, regulators, trade and industry groupings, and the private sector to work better and more intelligently together to achieve these goals. This Group hopes to push for a stronger healthcare industry, with better facilities, products and services, with aims to make quality healthcare accessible and affordable to the ASEAN region. The Group is presently chaired by Sanofi.
